1.50The Governor-General or the Governor-General in Council may need to formally execute a decision to give effect to it (for example, an appointment decision). In such cases, Ministers should not pre-empt the outcome of that process by announcing that the decision has taken effect before the Governor-General has signed the necessary documents.
1.51If it is necessary to announce a decision or an appointment before the Governor-General has signed the relevant documents, staff in the appropriate Minister's office should:
